Sony Debuts ULT POWER SOUND Series Of Speakers & Headphones

Sony is expanding its audio portfolio with the introduction of the all-new ULT POWER SOUND branding, featuring three speaker products – ULT TOWER 10, ULT FIELD 7, and ULT FIELD 1 – plus the ULT WEAR over-ear headphones. The common feature of all four products is the inclusion of the ‘ULT’ button, which enables “one or two different sound modes” that deliver big on bass.

The first product is the ULT TOWER 10 tower speaker, and here the ULT button enables two bass modes: the first one (ULT1) focuses on “deep bass boost for low-frequency sound”, while the second mode (ULT2) aims to deliver “powerful, punchy bass”. While both modes are designed as bass boosters, we assume the two slightly differ on the EQ range that they aim to boost on. The same feature applies to the smaller ULT FIELD 7 portable speaker as well, which also comes with an IP67 ingress protection rating.

Meanwhile, the ULT FIELD 1 portable speaker comes with one mode via the ULT button for “enhanced bass.” It’s rated for 12 hours of battery life, is IP67-rated, features shockproof design, as well as salt-water resistance – so taking it to the beach should be perfectly fine.

Finally, the ULT WEAR over-ear headphones borrows the Sony Integrated Processor V1 from the WH-1000XM4 headphones paired with a dedicated driver designed for this model. With the chip comes the ANC capability, and you get up to 30 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, or 50 hours with ANC disabled. A 3-minute fast charge will provide up to 90 minutes of listening time. Like other models here, the ULT button provides two bass modes.

The ULT WEAR headphones is now available in Malaysia for RM899, while other ULT POWER SOUND products will arrive this June.
