Among the two new wireless speakers announced today, the Sony SRS-XV800 is designed for large gatherings with its omnidirectional-firing speakers. It features five tweeters to cover all angles (a sensor will detect the speaker’s position and pick the four most suitable to use), plus two rectangular X-Balanced Speaker units handling the bass region. The speaker is rated for 25 hours of listening time, with 3 hours available from a 10-minute charge.

The speaker unit also feature integrated wheels and handle to provide easier transportation, as well as device lighting that syncs with the music’s beats. The TV Sound Booster complements existing TV setup to provide extra bass and realistic treble with the two rear-firing tweeters of the five available. There’s also karaoke and guitar input mode, illuminated touch panels, IPX4 water resistance and Bluetooth Fast Pair feature for Android devices.

Meanwhile, the SRS-XB100 is a small portable unit with an “off-center diaphragm” to boost clarity on high volume. It features a ‘Sound Diffusion Processor’ which is said to increase soundstage; a built-in microphone enables hands-free calling on connected devices. It is IP67-rated, with up to 16 hours of battery life on full charge.

Both products are set to arrive in retail channels within this month, with pricing unannounced at this writing.
