GoRental Global powered Outdoor Expo Malaysia 2026, held from 7 to 9 August at Titiwangsa Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, using portable battery energy storage systems (BESS) as the primary temporary power source. The three-day outdoor exhibition drew thousands of visitors across exhibitions, product launches, climbing demonstrations, survival workshops, and live stage performances.
GoRental Sets ASEAN Record At Outdoor Expo Malaysia 2026
GoRental deployed 67 portable BESS units across 48 open-air exhibition booths over 36 operating hours, delivering an estimated 992.16 kWh of clean energy throughout the event. The deployment received an ASEAN Record for the Largest Outdoor Exhibition Powered End-to-End by Portable Battery Energy Storage Systems.
The recognition was presented to GoRental Managing Director Colin Peh by Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Federal Territories, during the event’s closing program on 9 August 2026.
Compared to a conventional diesel-generator baseline (calculated at 0.30 liters per kWh and a diesel emission factor of 2.70 kg CO₂e per liter), the deployment is estimated to have avoided approximately 297.65 liters of diesel consumption and 803.65 kg CO₂e over the three days.
GoRental states that its battery-powered model can reduce temporary power costs by up to 30% compared to conventional diesel generator arrangements. Beyond cost, the systems operated without on-site exhaust emissions and at lower noise levels than diesel generators, reducing operational impact on exhibitors, visitors, and surrounding areas.
The Outdoor Expo Malaysia deployment serves as a commercial case study for GoRental’s regional expansion strategy across Southeast Asia. The company plans to work with event organizers, government agencies, and industry partners to extend portable BESS adoption across events, campsites, construction sites, and critical infrastructure. GoRental also intends to expand its Power to Empower community program as part of its Malaysia operations.
