HP Unveils New OMEN Gaming Laptops & HyperX Peripherals
At CES 2024, HP has presented its latest lineup under its OMEN gaming sub-brand with new laptops, as well as new products from HyperX.
The new entry to OMEN’s lineup is the new OMEN Transcend 14: HP says this is the world’s lightest 14-inch gaming laptop. This 1.64kg chassis packs the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, which can be charged via a 140W USB-C adapter – so expect the TGP rating of the GPU to be relatively modest compared to its thicker and heavier counterparts.
The laptop’s display is a 14-inch 2.8K 120Hz VRR OLED certified by IMAX (yes, the ones in cinemas), and the speakers are tuned by HP’s own HyperX team of engineers, responsible for its renowned Cloud line of gaming headsets. The keyboard also mimics HyperX’s pudding keycaps – with the entire translucent base letting RGB lighting through. HP also claims up to 11.5 hours of battery life from full charge.
That aside, the company’s existing lineup of laptops – including the OMEN Transcend 16, OMEN 16, and Victus 16 – all get the new Intel 14th Core i7 HX-series chips. The OMEN Transcend 16 also gains a new QHD+ 240Hz OLED display option.
The OMEN line also debuts a new monitor, the OMEN Trasncend 32 gaming monitor. The panel is a 4K 240Hz QD-OLED panel with a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and 0.3ms pixel response time. It’s also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified, and surrounding the monitor itself is the smart KVM feature as well as a pair of HyperX-tuned onboard speakers that can be customized with a 10-band EQ via OMEN Gaming Hub app.
Moving on to HyperX products – the brand introduced its new Mini collection of products designed for kids, including the new Cloud Mini headsets (both wired and wireless) and the Clutch Tanto Mini controller. The HyperX Alloy Rise keyboard is the first hot-swappable keyboard with gasket mounted design, which comes available in full-size or 75% variants. It supports auto brightness adjustment via the ambient light sensor and allows up to 10 profiles saved to its onboard memory.
HyperX also unveiled the new Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini gaming mouse, with the HyperX 26K sensor, dual wireless mode connectivity, dust-proof mouse switches, adjustable grip tape, and up to 100 hours of battery life. Finally, the HyperX Knight and Delta gaming backpacks, built using water-resistant polyester material, complete the CES 2024 lineup.
HP Malaysia has noted that local availability information will be available in due course.
Pokdepinion: I wonder how much RGB can the OMEN Transcend 14 produce from that keyboard. Would it be in the territory of “too much RGB”?
