PC case prices expected to go up soon
I think at this point, instead of listing out things that are going to get more expensive, we should have a list of things that aren’t getting more expensive. One of those things might be a PC case, but apparently, that’s not the case. Due to shipping container prices going up, PC case prices are also expected to go up soon.
PC cases are expected to go up by about £10 (~RM58), as shipping container costs have increased about 8 to 10 fold in the past year. As PC cases are pretty large, you can only cram about 1500 of them into a container. While manufacturers and retailers have largely absorbed the impact, it will sooner or later be passed on to consumers.
It is stipulated that by the end of the year, most cases in the market will be about £10 pricier, which is not that bad if you are looking at really premium cases. But if you are literally penny pinching and trying to get the most bang for your buck by choosing a really cheap case, that same amount could be a 30% increase.
I am not saying to go out and hoard cases, but if you are planning a build, you might want to buy your PC case now.
Pokdepinion: Luckily PC cases can be reused practically forever until you are bored of the aesthetics…
