Aesthetics and thermal paste don’t really belong to the same sentence, given that thermal paste is hidden beneath the cooler as soon as you install your PC parts. But Cooler Master went ahead and make them colorful anyway, with its Cryofuze 5 that contains six colors – enough for you to make the best Bob Ross impression, apparently.

The CPU Is Cryofuze’s Canvas

This all started from Cooler Master’s social media channels with a short 22-second clip posted last week, featuring all six colors of the thermal paste doubled as paints. On X (Twitter), the post caption reads: “Just a happy little landscape, thanks to our Cyrofuse [sic] thermal paste.” Those familiar with Bob Ross or lived on the Internet for long enough will certainly know this reference.

The clip ends with the IHS of the Intel processor featuring a small landscape with spots of blue, green, black, white, and yellow thermal paste covered on top of it (with the iconic theme song from the Bob Ross’s TV show). Don’t expect the scenery will remain once you install the heatsink or the pump though, as the pressure required to maintain proper contact means any excess paste (of which a lot is used here) will be squeezed out of the socket, potentially making a mess around it.

Still, you have to remember it is still a thermal paste first and foremost – and on that front, the company promises high performance characteristics, though it didn’t list the thermal conductivity (W/mk) on its datasheet.
