The new XERON NEX A61 ARGB is a single-tower air CPU cooler engineered around the thermal characteristics of AMD AM5 processors, that being said, this cooler still works on all mainstream desktop PC sockets from both Intel and AMD, extending to LGA115X and Socket AM4 designs from earlier generations.

The cooler uses an offset single-tower design which offers clearance for taller RAM modules, so those who want to flex their PC’s RGB muscles need not worry with this cooler installed. It also includes full-spectrum ARGB lighting for its dual fans, plus a magnetic brushed metal top cover, and support for host motherboard ARGB synchronization from brands including ASUS (AURA SYNC), MSI (Mystic Light), GIGABYTE (RGB Fusion), and ASRock (Polychrome SYNC).

The cooler’s architecture combines six direct-contact 6mm heatpipes to improve heat transfer across the CPU contact area. XERON said the design is intended to handle concentrated heat output from modern AMD AM5 processors, including flagship models such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 7 9850X3D, all of which has a slightly offset hotspot due to their unique chipset-based designs. XERON rates the cooler with up to 250W of cooling capacity.

Cooling is handled by a dual-fan configuration featuring ring-blade fans, which XERON said increases blade rigidity and helps suppress resonance during operation. At a maximum speed of 1800 RPM, the fans are rated to produce noise levels as low as 29.9 dB(A), with 55.08/54.87 CFM of airflow. The XERON NEX A61 ARGB is available in black and white colorways, with an MSRP of US$34.99 for the black version and US$36.99 for the white version.

Pokdepinion: A sub-$40 cooler that can handle flagship Ryzen chips is a solid deal.
