Following the launch of Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs, AMD is also preparing to launch the new Ryzen 9 X3D chips this week – just days before the March 12 launch, AMD SVP & GM of Computing & Graphics Group Jack Huynh has announced the official pricing for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D processors.

9950X3D & 9900X3D Pricing Announced

In a post on X (Twitter), Jack Huynh announced the 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D will retail for $699, while the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X3D will come with a $599 price tag – both unchanged from their predecessors. What’s changed, though, is the underlying chip: these new processors will use AMD’s second-generation 3D V-Cache architecture, which eliminates the downsides of previous designs via a flipped arrangement that allows the heat to be dissipated effectively. As a result, these chips share identical power limits as their non-X3D counterparts.

As announced in CES 2025, the 9950X3D will share identical clock speeds as its non-X3D counterpart, the Ryzen 9 9950X; whereas the Ryzen 9 9900X3D got a small -100MHz reduction compared to the regular 9900X (though both shares the same 120W TDP). Like before, one CCD (core complex die) will be armed with extra 64MB of L3 cache totaling 96MB, while the other CCD will stick to the standard 32MB L3 cache to deal with clockspeed-sensitive workloads.

The new processors will be available starting March 12, 2025 – in other words, this Wednesday. Expect reviews to be up when that happens, and we’ll add local pricing information here as soon as they are available.

Pokdepinion: If 9800X3D is any indication, the 9950X3D should be the new fastest CPU in town.
