AMD’s naming scheme for its products has not been its forte, with its rather confusing numbering and sometimes outright random switches in nomenclature at times. With the upcoming launch of the Ryzen AI chips for consumer laptops, it’s a matter of time until the business counterpart shows up.
AMD Ryzen AI PRO Launching In October?
Tongue-twisting naming aside, the name was revealed by leaker @AnhPhuH (via Videocardz), who has a history of leaking AMD products including Radeon PRO W7900 dual-slot and Ryzen 8000F series. According to the leaker, the chipmaker will launch the new Ryzen AI 300 PRO series six months after the Ryzen PRO 8000’s launch, which happened on this April; add six months and you’ll get October.

The leaker has also listed two new models, which likely corresponds to their consumer-facing counterparts. The flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 will likely feature the same specs as the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 plus some additional security features; meanwhile, the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 is the first known Ryzen AI 7 model, and based on the Geekbench entry spotted by @BenchLeaks (via Wccftech), this chip may feature just 8 cores in an unusual 3+5 core configuration.
Pokdepinion: AMD should really rethink its naming system.
