The highest performing 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen is now here, with 16 cores and 32 threads of muscle. The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X was previously leaked, and we now finally have official confirmation that the processor does exist, and it is coming September 2019.

The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X offers more cores, more cache and the higher clock speeds than any of the previously launched 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen processors. For overclocking enthusiasts, the AMD Ryzen Overclocking Team managed to push it to 5.375 GHz under LN2 to deliver a record-setting performance in Cinebench R20 with a multi-threaded score of 12 167.

With that, it now holds the crown as the highest performing 16-core processor and also as the highest performing CPU in a mainstream socket. The price? $749 (~RM3118).

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Specs

  • 16C/32T @ up to 4.7 GHz, 7nm FinFET
  • 72MB cache (L2 + L3)
  • 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes
  • 105W TDP
  • $749 (~RM3118)

Would you be picking one up this September 2019?
