In its original launch, Qualcomm has unveiled four Snapdragon X SoCs, and they are X1E-84-100, X1E-80-100, X1E-78-100 under the X Elite lineup, plus one X1P-64-100 with the ‘X Plus’ branding. It turns out there are more models planned than what was launched earlier this year, as the driver files from Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU has revealed as much as 10 SKUs (including the four already revealed).
More Snapdragon X SKUs Uncovered
According to the information received by Videocardz, the driver files responsible for Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU (which is also featured in the Snapdragon X chips) has a list of SKUs under the company’s Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus lineup. These includes unannounced models such as X1P-56-100, X1E-76-100, plus one oddly named “X1E001DE” and two of the supposedly X Plus models named as “Snapdragon 8cx Next Gen”. Snapdragon 8cx is the name that predates the Snapdragon X series in earlier generations of Windows-on-Arm laptops.
That being said, there is no indication on whether these are merely future models or it may have been cut from release and is left in the driver files. There’s also no information on the specs for these SKUs, given that the differentiator between X Elite and X Plus is mostly down to two extra CPU cores and a slightly more powerful GPU, with clock speeds being the main difference between each models under a specific series.
Pokdepinion: It’s probably better to simplify the lineup given that there’s not much difference in core count between them, unlike Intel or AMD’s offerings.
