3DMark has secured Seasonic as a sponsor for its next-generation benchmark, UL has announced. Expect the Taiwanese power supply maker’s logo prominently featured in the scene that will form part of 3DMark’s upcoming full path tracing benchmark that will push GPUs to their absolute limits.
Seasonic Joins Upcoming 3DMark Benchmark Sponsorship Roster
UL Solutions says the benchmark has been in development “for a long time,” and it’ll be used to evaluate path tracing, known as the most demanding variant of ray tracing which renders light entirely from ray calculations, without the help of traditional rasterization approaches. To this day, only a handful of games allow full path tracing rendering, and very few GPUs today are capable of running them at playable framerates (with AI upscaling a mandatory requirement).
According to UL, the upcoming benchmark “runs at both 4K-native resolution and a choice of AI-based upscaling and frame generation tech from one of several vendors,” so it most certainly can do double duty as a quality comparison tool on top of being likely the most extreme benchmark test for GPUs in years to come.
During its initial announcement in June (the Computex 2026 week, to be specific), UL has confirmed Thermal Grizzly as its first benchmark sponsor. Seasonic is the second thus far, and for reference, several other brands have sponsored 3DMark benchmarks in the past. Lenovo Legion was a part of the Speed Way test, while GALAX is involved in the well-known Time Spy benchmark, as well as Solar Bay ray-tracing benchmark.
Note that no specific release date for the benchmark has been announced at this time – UL has stated it will share the benchmark with the public when it is ready.
