Intel has accidentally revealed an unannounced Arc Battlemage GPU in its design-in tools store, primarily serving board makers to validate their hardware with the new silicon. The listing has since been taken down, but not before user @miktdt on X (Twitter) has spotted the page and later captured by publications, including Videocardz who originally reported this story.

“BMG-G31” To Lead The Arc Battlemage Lineup

The listing is named “PTT Engagement – BGA3283-BMG-G31 VRTT Interposer – Prototypes”, and we can infer from this name that the silicon name is BMG-G31, and it uses a BGA3283 socket. Leaker @SquashBionic also posted a list of potential Arc Battlemage, which includes the aforementioned BMG-G31, as well as the smaller BMG-G10 and BMG-G21. The G10 variant was reportedly cancelled, which means Intel potentially has two silicon to further segment into various SKUs to serve different price points. For comparison, AMD has 3 (Navi 31, 32, 33) in this generation, while NVIDIA has 7 in the Ada Lovelace generation.

Coming back to the G31 chip, this silicon is reportedly featuring 32 Xe2-cores amounting to 4,096 ALUs (arithmetic logic units) / FP32 cores, which is the exact same as the existing Arc A770 featuring the top Arc Alchemist chip (ACM-G10). Of course, Battlemage will feature new architecture that is expected to boost performance.

While Intel has already revealed some parts of the Battlemage architecture via its upcoming Lunar Lake laptop chip, the said chip is not launching until September at earliest – and nothing has been said on the reveal of the desktop-based Arc Battlemage GPUs at this point. The best we can do is wait, but if the listing is any indication, it looks like validation testing is getting underway soon.

Pokdepinion: I expect more info to come later as AIBs are presumed to soon be getting their hands on these chips.
