It’s been relatively silent over at Team Blue’s GPU department since they announced Battlemage architecture through Lunar Lake – but what about the desktop GPUs? Looks like it’s happening soon, according to leaker Golden Pig Upgrade.

Battlemage Coming Soon?

The leaker posted on Weibo: “Look forward to the wonderful performance of Battlemage (desktop-only) next month!” Not a whole lot is given, but safe to say Intel may have something in store for us this coming Christmas season.

It’s worth noting that Intel won’t be alone with GPU announcements in the coming months, as NVIDIA is also rumored to be gearing up for RTX 50 series (expected January 2025), while AMD is also preparing RDNA4’s launch around the same timeframe. This will be one of the rarest sights in the GPU industry where all three major chipmakers will be showcasing their latest offerings, possibly within the same show floor too, since CES 2025 is coming pretty soon.

Originally, sources told ComputerBase that the launch may happen sometime within November to coincide with Black Friday / Thanksgiving season, but this information dates back to April this year – several months and one financial blunder later, it’s hard to say if the Chipzilla is sticking to its current plans.

Pokdepinion: Let’s hope something good comes from Intel this time around.
