NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 is one massive graphics card…
Recently leaked photos of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 reveals an absolutely massive triple-slot graphics card. In addition to its thickness, it also dwarfs the GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition which was also featured in the leaked images.
The design is pretty interesting with one fan on each side of the card. I have never seen such a design so I am quite intrigued with how well will it cool. The fans sport a ring around the blades which is pretty similar to ASUS’ Axial-tech fans and Cooler Master’s SF120M. These fans supposedly increase static pressure, which should improve heat dissipation from better airflow over a tightly packed fin stack.
Regardless, we will most probably not get to see the GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition here anyway, so I guess we will have to see how big NVIDIA’s partners will make their cards. Stay tuned as NVIDIA is expected to announce the GeForce RTX 3090 and maybe a few other Ampere-based cards this 2nd September!
Pokdepinion: I do think it looks pretty good… But I am quite worried about the compatibility with smaller cases.
