NVIDIA Reportedly Advanced RTX 4060 Launch Date To June 29th
Despite the initial announcement last month that RTX 4060 Ti 16GB and RTX 4060 is set for July launch – looks like NVIDIA changed the plans and decided to launch the non-Ti model ahead of time. Specifically – June 29th, with reviews set to go live a day earlier.
According to internal press documents from Videocardz, the details for key events has already been listed (albeit pixelated presumably to protect the sources). Some of the key events are not listed, but according to the publication here are the upcoming key dates relating to RTX 4060’s launch:
- June 9th: AIC Press & Influencers Seeding List Submission
- June 12th: Ship to Channel/NDA Channel Embargo
- June 21st: AIC Press & Influencer Seeding
- June 28th: MSRP models reviews
- June 29th: non-MSRP model reviews & On-Shelf (launch)
As of this writing (12/6), the GPUs are currently shipping to AIBs, OEMs and SIs today; and reviews for MSRP models ($299) will go live on 28/6, one day before the non-MSRP reviews as well as the product’s retail launch. The card will feature AD107 silicon with 3072 CUDAs, 8GB GDDR6, making it the smallest RTX 40 series GPU so far.
Meanwhile, the 16GB version of RTX 4060 Ti sticks to the existing July release schedule – though the exact date remains unknown for now.
Pokdepinion: Looks to me this might be either a reaction to Radeon’s launch or more likely, RTX 4060 Ti 8GB’s weak sales.
