Team Green is officially introducing three new GPUs under the RTX 40 SUPER series: the three GPUs, namely RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER, will be launching starting 17 January 2024 with the RTX 4070 SUPER, with the other two models to follow in the following Wednesdays.

Starting with RTX 4080 SUPER – NVIDIA has provided very limited information on this GPU aside from a few numbers, and it says the GPU will be 1.4x faster over the RTX 3080 Ti “without DLSS Frame Generation,” and 2x with DLSS FG enabled. No precise figures were given aside from “more cores” and “faster memory”, but prior leaks have pointed out that it’s getting 512 CUDA cores, plus 23Gbps GDDR6X VRAM that the company claimed is “world’s fastest”. This GPU will launch on 31 January 2024, with a price of $999.

Next up is the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. This is the sole model of the three to come without a Founder’s Edition variant, and it’s also getting a bigger upgrade in the form of increased VRAM to 16GB. The new memory cranks up the bandwidth up to 672GB/s, and the company claims a 1.6x improvement over RTX 3070 Ti without DLSS 3 involved. It’ll launch a week earlier than RTX 4080 SUPER on January 24th, 2024, at $799.

Finally, the RTX 4070 SUPER brings 20% more CUDA cores and is claimed to be on equal footing against the RTX 3090 when it comes to raster performance. It’s worth noting that this GPU also gets increased power draw according to prior leaks, but NVIDIA never made any mentions of the power draw of this GPU officially. (The official spec sheet should reflect that when it’s published.) This card will be the first to launch on January 17, 2024 – costing $599.

In other GeForce-related news, NVIDIA is introducing Day Pass to its GeForce NOW service – just like what it says on the label, this enables subscribers 24-hour access to the service equivalent to the feature set enjoyed by Priority and Ultimate tier subscribers. Those getting the Ultimate Day Pass will get access to the most advanced technologies NVIDIA has to offer, including DLSS 3.5, full ray tracing, and NVIDIA Reflex.

For Twitch streamers, Team Green is also working on a solution in collaboration with the streaming platform as well as OBS for a new feature called Enhanced Broadcasting. This is aimed at solving the issue where streamers will opt for the “lowest common denominator” in terms of resolution to reach more users. Naturally, this limits the video quality – Enhanced Broadcasting will enable streamers to encode and transmit up to five concurrent streams at different resolutions, enabling those with better internet connections to stream in higher quality. Beta signup is expected to begin today, and going live later this month.

Pokdepinion: The pricing of RTX 4080 SUPER is at least an improvement. Still more expensive than I’d like, though.
