A List Of Upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Laptop GPUs Gets Leaked

Taiwanese ODM laptop maker CLEVO was recently hit with a ransomware attack, which resulted in several leaks of its internal plans with various chipmakers – from the images shown by security researcher Dominic Alvieri on X (Twitter), one of them contains information on NVIDIA’s next-gen “Blackwell” GPU plans.

First Leak Of RTX 50 Laptop GPUs

The leaked image has listed these model codes:

• GN22-X11 (16 GB GDDR7)
• GN22-X9 (16 GB GDDR7)
• GN22-X7 (12 GB GDDR7)
• GN22-X6 (8 GB GDDR7)
• GN22-X4 (8 GB GDDR7)
• GN22-X2 (8 GB GDDR7)

For the upcoming Blackwell GPUs, it looks like NVIDIA is set to embrace GDDR7 memory for its laptop lineup, and they are expected to slot above RTX 4050, which will then serve as the entry-level SKUs for certain laptops. Going by the VRAM capacity, it’s safe to say the 16GB models are likely RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Ti mobile, while the 12GB likely belongs to RTX 5080; the three remaining 8GB variants are likely split between RTX 5070, RTX 5060, and RTX 5050.

That being said, it’s unclear what type of silicon may be powering each of the SKUs listed above – if RTX 40 is any indication, something like GB203 may serve as the top tier model (especially as GB202 is expected to be an ultra-large silicon with ridiculously powerful specs), while the GB207 will be slotted at the bottom end of the product stack.

There is a good chance that NVIDIA may introduce this new lineup at CES 2025, where laptop SKUs usually debuts. This likely follows the announcement of desktop Blackwell GPUs, which is expected in late 2024.

Pokdepinion: One thing that concerns me is the price – RTX 40 laptops are a whole lot more expensive than RTX 30 equivalents. Hopefully Blackwell doesn’t continue that trend, but I’m not holding my breath.
