NVIDIA recently announced the latest updates for its RTX technologies portfolio, which includes the announcement of the launch date for Ubisoft’s upcoming Star Wars title.

Ubisoft’s first-ever Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws is launching this August 30, the publisher has announced. Developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, this new title will feature some of the most advanced graphics technologies courtesy of NVIDIA – including DLSS 3, Ray Tracing, and Reflex low-latency mode. The game’s plot is set in a timeline between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

For PC gamers (and RTX 40 series owners in particular), you’ll be able to use Team Green’s DLSS 3 frame generation to boost framerates – but if you’re on the older RTX GPUs, you can still get some of the performance boost via DLSS 2 (DLSS Super Resolution). On top of that, NVIDIA Reflex is also available to further cut down on input latency for better responsiveness. Moreover, the Snowdrop game engine allows the game to feature technologies like NVIDIA RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI), ray-traced reflections, and ray-traced global illumination (RTGI).

Aside from Star Wars Outlaws, NVIDIA has also announced that DLSS2 & DLAA (deep learning anti-aliasing) is coming to TRIBES 3: Rivals, a team-based FPS game developed by Prophecy Games. The game is currently on early access, and the developer has noted that users will need to manually set internal resolution scaling when enabling DLSS. The upscaling technology is also making its way to The Outlast Trials, which recently exited early access status.
