As the custom keyboard community grows in recent years, Cooler Master has released a customizable version of their CK721 keyboard, named CK720, with the same 65% keyboard layout as the former. This model is aimed towards keyboard enthusiasts that prefers to build keyboards based on their look, typing feel and sounds.

“The CK720 is our answer to a niche segment of the hobby that we’ve seen explode in recent years,” says Dennis Liu, Peripheral General Manager of Cooler Master. “Although gaming keyboards remain an essential offering of our company, we couldn’t ignore the outpouring of feedback from our fans who wanted our signature quality in a hot-swappable mechanical keyboard.”

The keyboard features various design features that allows for easy customization. The top cover, made of sandblasted aluminum, is removable; doubleshot PBT keycaps come standard, with ergonomic keycaps spanning the 65% layout. By default, the CK720 coems with Kailh Box V2 switch, a pre-lubed 5-pin switch which is rated for 80 million keystrokes. Alternatively, the model comes with extra set of MX Green for those who prefer heavy clicky feel.

In the sound department, the stabilizers are in-house, comes pre-lubed and is padded with silicone across the entire bottom plate that absorbs high-pitch ‘pings’ and produces a deep ‘thock’ sound. More creature comforts comes in the form of 3-way dial, customizable through MasterPlus+ software; direct backlight controls and macro recording through Fn keys; and macOS support.
