Sony Brings Two New Walkman Models, NW-ZX707 & NW-A306
Both features increased battery life, AI-assisted upscaling tech and enhanced DSEE support.

Sony today announces two new models under its Walkman family – NW-ZX707 and NW-A306. Both models are paired with S-Master HX digital amp, exclusively developed for Walkman models which is compatible with DSD format. Solder points are done with gold-infused reflow solder which the company says is “significant in the overall improved sound localization and wider sound space.”
DSEE Ultimate, a proprietary tech for real-time audio upscaling makes a feature here, now with AI enhancements to deliver higher quality samples. The feature is now available both to local playback, online stream and even through compatible wireless headphones. Battery life has been increased, Sony claims up to 25 hours playback for the NW-ZX707 and 36 hours for NW-A306, both with 44.1kHz FLAC playback. For online streaming, the figures stand at 22 and 26 hours, respectively.
The bigger model, NW-ZX707, features a 5-inch display and Wi-Fi connectivity. Upgraded capacitors including FTCAP3 provides low signal resistance, oxygen-free copper is used for signal routing; a 8mm coil runs the balanced audio output, with DSD Remastering Engine resampling PCM audio to 11.2MHz DSD format. NW-A306 meanwhile is the smaller model, with 3.6-inch display and weighs at 7 ounces (~198g). Chassis is courtesy of milled aluminum frame for increased rigidity.
Both models will be available this month – the NW-ZX707 is priced at RM3,699 while the NW-A306 costs RM1,599.
