ASUS Formally Announces Next-Gen Ryzen Support For AMD 600 Series Motherboards

Last week, it was known that both ASUS and MSI have introduced BIOS updates that add support for “next-gen” AMD Ryzen processors, with the latter formally announcing its plans to update all AMD 600 series motherboards under its brand to support the Zen5-based chips. Now, ASUS is also formally announcing the same.

“ASUS today announced BIOS updates enabling support for next-gen AMD Ryzen processors on ASUS AM5 X670, B650 and A620 motherboards, as well as support for existing Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series processors,” the company wrote in a press release.

AMD is expected to bring the next generation of Ryzen processors, likely named Ryzen 9000 series, sometime later this year. It’ll be powered by the Zen5 architecture, and rumors so far indicate huge performance uplifts. The company may formally unveil the new lineup as soon as this June at the annual Computex event.
