The CVN Z790D5 ARK FROZEN sports a titanium gray design from the heat sinks to the PCB, with a 14+1+1 digital power phase design with 90A DrMOS VRMs and tantalum polymer capacitors, which is designed to handle the power-hungry Core i9 processors. The PCIe layout comes in the form of one PCIe 5.0 x16, one PCIe 4.0 x16 (x4 electrically), one PCIe 4.0 x4 and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots are available for storage expansion, while a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN port and Wi-Fi 6E take care of connectivity.

The motherboard also features alloy reinforced memory slots for durability and aesthetics, and the 8-layer PCB with thickened gold-plated contacts ensures stable signaling for supporting memory overclocks up to 7800MT/s. Connectivity options on the rear I/O include four USB 2.0, two USB 3.2 Gen1, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, and one USB 3.2 Gen2x2 type-C port. The front panel I/O header features a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port supporting 30W PD fast charging.

No availability or pricing has been announced so far, though expect the motherboard to arrive in local storefronts in the coming weeks.

Pokdepinion: Kind of surprising to see Z790 motherboards are still being developed when Z890 are around the corner.
