Chinese PC components maker COLORFUL has launched its flagship iGame Z790D5 Vulcan W and Z790D5 Vulcan X motherboards, both featuring an EATX (Extended ATX) form factor. Both models were first showcased in the Computex 2024 earlier this June.
COLORFUL iGame Z790D5 Vulcan Series
The iGame Z790D5 Vulcan motherboards’ VRMs feature a 19+1+1 power phase design coupled with DrMOS 105A power stages and a 8-layer PCB to feed the power and stability demands of the Intel Core processors, especially under overclocking. These motherboards also include alloy-reinforced DDR5 DIMM slots with gold-plated contacts, and the VRM is full of heatsink fins for maximum cooling potential.
For storage, the motherboards provide four M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, including one with a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. Rear I/O is equipped with multiple USB ports, including two USB4 40Gbps Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3/4 support, plus dual LAN ports (2.5GbE + 5GbE, both Realtek chipsets) and Wi-Fi 7 for networking. There’s also dual BIOS switch available in case one fails; with LN2 Mode and Slow Mode for extreme overclocking use.
In terms of looks, the entire bottom half of the motherboard is covered with the metal plate – though this seems like a design choice as the spec sheet indicates that there are two more PCIe slots below the main GPU slot. You have the choice of white and black to fit the theme your PC builds as well.
In terms of availability and pricing, we have yet to see any listing on digital storefronts so far, though you may see the lineup getting listed in the coming weeks.
