BIOS has gone a long way from rudimentary user interface in the past, with models in recent years already getting a lot of knobs and tweaks in a somewhat user-friendly design. MSI is looking to further improve on that, replacing the current version in use for many years.

MSI Click BIOS X

The new Click BIOS X supersedes the existing Click BIOS 5, and based on the screenshots provided, we can assume that the new and improved interface also comes with high resolution support. (Most BIOS menus still runs on low resolutions, often on 4:3 aspect ratio as well). Besides that, it comes in five themes – one for each product line – and it also supports saving user profiles.

According to ITHome (via Videocardz), Click BIOS X will feature a new hardware monitor, which will monitor various metrics from fans, CPU, RAM, GPU, and more. As the new BIOS will debut via AMD X870 motherboards, the screenshot also displays a quick PBO toggle from the “MSI Performance Preset” feature. Users can also configure the SMART button (similar to ASUS’s FlexKey) to perform certain functions, such as Safe Boot or activate Turbo Fan mode.

Besides AMD X870, it is also reported that MSI will be implementing the redesigned BIOS to the upcoming Intel Z890 series motherboards, meaning all models moving forward will be adopting the new interface.

Pokdepinion: Personally I do find the current Click BIOS 5 takes some learning curve – the new one looks pretty promising to me.
