According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple is gearing up to unveil an all-new M4 Mac mini powered by the Apple M4 chip, slated for release around October. This launch will also introduce the first major redesign of the Mac mini, featuring a significantly smaller footprint, resembling the compact size of the Apple TV 4K.

For comparison, the Apple TV 4K measures 3.1 x 9.3 cm, while the current M2 Mac mini is larger at 3.6 x 19.7 cm. Despite the size reduction, the new M4 Mac mini will maintain its familiar aluminum shell. Apple is expected to release two variants of the mini—one equipped with the standard M4 chip and another with the more powerful M4 Pro.
In terms of connectivity, the upcoming Mac mini is rumored to feature 3x USB-C ports, 1x HDMI port, and a power input. This marks a significant upgrade in I/O options, making the device even more versatile for various use cases.
The report also suggests that Apple plans to update its iMac and MacBook Pro lineups with the M4 chips this year. Meanwhile, the Mac Pro, Mac Studio, and MacBook Air are expected to receive the new chips in 2025.
Pokdepinion: I’m surprised this one would be kept for this year while the Pro and Studio will be left for next year instead. Well, no complaints here.
