[COMPUTEX 2025] Biwin Showcases RAM & SSDs With New Consumer Branding

Biwin might not be a brand that most people are familiar with, but they’ve been silently working in the background for more than two decades delivering memory and flash storage products without much attention. The company’s business model is mostly B2B up until recently, as it officially debuts itself as a consumer brand to sell its products directly to consumers.

Here’s some backstory per Biwin’s representative of the COMPUTEX 2025 showcase, Bob Snyder. He says the company serves as a producer of memory and storage products to brands seeking to sell such products but lack the R&D or resources to do so – as such, brands that elected Biwin to produce parts for them gets to sell them with their brand, and they get most if not all the credit for it.

For Biwin’s part, they simply work silently behind the doors to keep everything humming along, which is especially important as it is responsible for several well-known brands in the industry, such as Acer and Lenovo. Still, the flash storage maker decided to have a shot at the consumer market with their own brand when it officially debuted late last year with some new names like Black Opal (named after one of the rarest gems in the world), Amber, and OC Lab (for top-binned products).

We were shown with the likes of Black Opal X570 series SSDs, Mini SSDs (the image at the top of this article), Amber series portable SSDs, and some portable storage products in unique form factors, such as a USB drive in the earbuds-like case to prevent the drive from getting lost, and portable SSDs packed into a “lipstick case” primarily designed for women.

Pokdepinion: The earbuds design is pretty creative, I’ll say.
