Kingston has announced the updated XS Series of external SSDs for the Malaysian market, introducing a new visual identity featuring the company’s mascot Rex and the “Built on Commitment” tagline. We previously saw this new design on the company’s Computex 2025 booth, which will now be expended throughout the lineup.

Kingston XS Series Refresh

The refreshed XS Series SSDs includes the XS2000, XS1000 and XS1000R models, which phases out the old look featuring the Kingston wordmark for the aforementioned visual update, though the physical design remains identical. The XS2000 supports read speeds of up to 2,000MB/s and storage capacities of up to 4TB, with support for Apple ProRes direct video recording. The XS1000 series (with the XS1000R being the red-colored version) offers read speeds of up to 1,050MB/s and is available in capacities up to 2TB.

The updated XS Series is now available at retail and online outlets in Malaysia. As part of a promotional campaign running from 16 June to 20 July 2025, customers purchasing select Kingston products – including any external SSD, FURY DDR5 (16GB or above), NV3 SSD, or KC3000 SSD – from participating channels will receive a complimentary Kingston canvas bag (head to its official Facebook page for more details).

Pokdepinion: Small visual update, but the same great SSD nonetheless.
