TM, through its enterprise and government sector arm TM One, has unveiled the TM Cyber Defence Centre (TM CYDEC), a Cyber Fusion operating model designed to consolidate connectivity, cloud and cybersecurity capabilities under a single framework. TM CYDEC is intended to help organizations detect cyber threats, reduce vulnerabilities and respond to incidents more quickly.
Located at TM’s Cyberjaya Campus, TM CYDEC brings together intelligence, talent and capabilities drawn from government, enterprise and TM’s own security operations. The center is designed to provide an integrated view across networks, cloud platforms, applications and digital infrastructure, rather than monitoring these environments separately.
TM CYDEC’s Responsibilities

As organizations increasingly incorporate AI into their processes, customer services and operations, TM CYDEC is designed to address emerging risks related to data exposure, governance, model integrity and regulatory compliance. The center offers 24/7 monitoring and threat intelligence, correlating telemetry across digital systems, managed services and cybersecurity operations, which TM said helps reduce blind spots and fragmentation that can occur when these areas are monitored in isolation, supporting faster and more precise decision-making.
Based in Malaysia, TM CYDEC is designed to support local governance, escalation and control for sensitive environments. TM said its multi-security-domain approach and Malaysian-based expertise are intended to provide greater assurance around regulatory compliance, supporting requirements under the Cyber Security Act 2024, the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, and Malaysia’s broader digital governance framework.
TM CYDEC has also received several internationally recognised certifications, including ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management, ISO 22301 for business continuity management, ISO 9001 for quality management, and ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management.
Pokdepinion: Bundling connectivity, cloud and security under one roof makes a lot of sense as AI adoption keeps expanding attack surfaces.
