Maxis Expands 5G Roaming Service to 29 Countries

Expect further expansions and no extra charges over 4G, says the telecommunications provider.

Maxis Expands 5G Roaming Service to 29 Countries

Following the announcement of Maxis being the first to provide 5G international roaming service in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia since October 2021, the telecommunications company has expanded the list of countries to 29. You can view the list of countries and their respective rates here.

“We are pleased that our customers can enjoy the best 5G experience in even more countries now, which is timely with the expectation of an influx of travelers for the year-end holidays. Together with our roaming partners, we are committed to providing the best connectivity experience wherever our customers are. We also look forward to further expanding our services to more countries in the near future,” said Arjun Varma, Head of Maxis Consumer.

The 5G roaming service will be seamlessly transitioned from existing 4G roaming service with any 5G-enabled device; no extra charges needed. Users can subscribe the service through Maxis app and select a plan under Maxis Roaming section. Alternatively, users can dial USSD code *100#, select ‘International Roaming’ and ‘Country’ to select one of the available passes.

The company ends the press release by stating they have ‘continuous plans’ to further extend their 5G roaming presence to more countries by the end of 2022.
