Probably by now, you might’ve seen on what 5G is capable of, where it can get speeds of up to 10Gbps and with the agreement between the two, Maxis hopes to deliver the best 5G innovation to benefit consumers and businesses in Malaysia.

So what exactly does this deal mean? Well it means that HUAWEI will be providing 4G as well as 5G radio equipment and services. Besides 5G technologies, Maxis will be able to modernize their 4G network to be 5G-ready.

HUAWEI on the other hand will prepare a team of experts to support Maxis on a series of technical training programs on planning, operations and maintenance of the 5G network.

Before 4G was made available in Malaysia, Maxis was the first telco to introduce it to the public.

Pokdepinion: Though it’s safe to say that we’ll not see 5G anytime soon, it’d be interesting to see if Maxis will be the first telco to introduce it :D
