Pepper Labs has launched 50,000 AI learning opportunities for Malaysians under the AI-Ready Malaysia initiative, aimed at strengthening the country’s AI workforce readiness and expanding sovereign and agentic AI adoption across government, businesses, and communities.

The launch coincides with Pepper Labs’ 11th anniversary, marking the company’s transition from a social impact enterprise into an AI company spanning workforce development, sovereign AI platforms, and enterprise AI transformation. The initiative was launched by YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, during the AI-Ready Malaysia Summit 2026 at Royale Chulan Damansara.
The initiative is funded through a regional programme by AVPN, with support from Google.org and the Asian Development Bank. It will provide 50,000 Malaysians, including university students, educators, and micro, small and medium enterprises, with practical AI training aimed at improving workforce readiness, business productivity, and responsible AI adoption.
Gobind said Malaysia’s digital transformation must ensure AI knowledge and capabilities are accessible to all Malaysians, adding that the initiative reflects collaboration between government, industry, and development partners in building an AI-ready nation. Pepper Labs also announced a collaboration with MyDIGITAL Corporation to expand access to digital skills training for the public.
The summit featured Bisnes.ai, a sovereign AI-powered business support platform developed by Pepper Labs for Malaysian micro-entrepreneurs, SMEs, and community businesses. The platform functions as an AI business assistant, supporting tasks such as generating business documents, quotations, and invoices, analysing forms and images, creating marketing content, managing customer interactions, and providing guidance based on Malaysian regulations and grants. The platform is built with sovereign AI infrastructure, human oversight, and auditability.
Pepper Labs also presented its portfolio of more than 40 Agentic AI solutions, designed to help government ministries and agencies automate knowledge-intensive work while maintaining governance and human oversight. These solutions include policy and knowledge assistants, parliamentary intelligence tools, grant assessment support, enterprise document intelligence, and workflow orchestration systems that allow AI agents to retrieve information, analyse evidence, and coordinate tasks across business processes.
Pepper Labs stated these tools are intended to reduce manual effort and improve decision-making accuracy while ensuring recommendations remain transparent, traceable, and subject to human approval. The company said it continues to expand its role across the AI value chain in Malaysia, from talent development to sovereign AI platforms and agentic AI solutions, through partnerships with government, industry, and the broader innovation ecosystem.
