Swift Student Challenge Now Open

The Swift Student Challenge is an annual event that provides students with the opportunity to create innovative app playgrounds using Swift, Apple’s programming language for its apps. Participants are encouraged to design interactive scenes that can be experienced within three minutes.

To be eligible for the Challenge, applicants must meet specific criteria: they must not be employed full-time as a developer and must meet the minimum age requirement for their country or region (16 years old for Malaysia); additionally, they must be registered as an Apple developer or be a member of the Apple Developer Program.

Applicants must also fulfill one of the following educational requirements: they must be enrolled in, or have graduated within the last 90 days from, an accredited academic institution or official homeschool equivalent, or an Apple Developer Academy. Alternatively, they can be enrolled in a STEM organization’s educational curriculum.

The company will select 350 winners whose submissions demonstrate excellence in “innovation, creativity, social impact, or inclusivity”; 50 Distinguished Winners among them will be invited for a three-day trip to Apple HQ in Cupertino, California. All winners will receive one year of membership in the Apple Developer Program, a complimentary voucher to take an App Development with Swift certification exam, and a special gift, according to the announcement.
