I’m sure you’ve heard of horror stories on the Google Play Store, particularly on apps that aren’t working as intended but instead takes your personal data. In this case, we have “Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools”, which as been installed well over 100,000 times.

According to security researchers at Pradeo, the aforementioned app houses a trojan virus known as “Facestealer”. How it works is that it will trick you into putting in your Facebook login details, which will then be forwarded to a Russian-based server. It’s not limited to just that however as it will also take your credit card details, chats, search history, and practically any personal data it can find.

Anyone who downloads the app will definitely face it as it will require a Facebook login to use the photo editor. It’s a rather easy one to look over given the sheer amount of apps nowadays that lets you login using your Facebook account.

If you downloaded the Craftsart Cartoon Photo Tools app, remove the app as soon as possible. The app has since been removed on the Google Play Store.
