WABetaInfo has revealed a new feature currently undergoing testing in WhatsApp’s beta channel: AI-generated stickers. This feature is spotted on the app version 2.23.17.14, and the article says the feature is currently available to “a very limited group of beta testers”.

As the screenshot above from the website shows, there is a new “Create” button when opening the sticker panel, and users will be prompted to enter a text to describe what kind of sticker they want to send. The app will list all used prompts and the generated stickers to allow users to share as needed. The article also alleges that any AI-generated stickers will be labeled accordingly, and the generation is done by Meta’s own AI technologies.

There will be guardrails to keep the AI in check, too. The article also noted that if any generated stickers are deemed inappropriate, users can report to Meta as required. The feature is expected to roll out in the next few weeks, says WABetaInfo – so keep an eye out for official announcements when WhatsApp gave the feature an official green light.

Pokdepinion: A small but perhaps nice addition – given that WhatsApp already provides great flexibility when it comes to adding custom stickers.
