New WhatsApp Beta Update Adds Facebook Messenger Rooms
Recently, Facebook launched Messenger Rooms which is a clear competitor for Zoom and other similar apps. Now, it appears that they’re ready to take to the next step as they are integrating it into the new WhatsApp beta update.
First seen on WABetaInfo, Facebook Messenger Rooms was integrated into WhatsApp beta for Android, specifically version 2.20.163. In the update, there is a new Room option in the share menu, which will direct users to Messenger to create a room and have a group video call session with up to 50 people at once.
It’s worth noting that this particular WhatsApp beta update for Android is available for a very selected number of beta users in a few countries. It’s expected to be made available in more countries later on.
How Can I Try This New WhatsApp Beta Update Feature?
If you’re interested to try it out, you have one of two options. The first is to enroll yourself in their beta program by clicking right here. It will be subjected to whether they have enough space to accommodate more. The other is to download and install the APK for version 2.20.163 of WhatsApp beta for Android. Just be careful not to download it from a weird source.
Pokdepinion: It’s a pretty neat feature to have. I mean, if you have the ability to reach a wider audience, might as well make use of it.
