WhatsApp has officially launched its iPad version of the app, which is designed for larger screens and multitasking capabilities. Like all other versions, you get the same features such as messaging, audio and video calls with up to 32 participants.

WhatsApp For iPad

Meta has given this app some iPadOS-specific multitasking features including Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over, which means users can interact with WhatsApp while simultaneously using other apps. Besides that, it is also compatible with accessories such as the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. With bigger screen real estate, the app will use a two-column layout showing chat lists on the left, and messages on the right.

It’s worth mentioning that Stage Manager is limited to specific iPad modes, and they are:
– iPad Pro with M4
– iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
– iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
– iPad Air (5th generation)
– iPad Air 11-inch (M2 and later)
– iPad Air 13-inch (M2 and later)

With WhatsApp now sorted out, Instagram – another Meta-owned app – is another highly-requested app to enable native support on Apple’s tablets. Recent indications seem to point at the company working on exactly such.
