The latest iOS update is bringing minor enhancements for supported models (iPhone Xs and up) – including a new batch of emojis, transcript support for Apple Podcasts, add identified songs to Apple Music playlists, message announcements via Siri, and enhanced battery telemetry for iPhone 15.

The new update brings emojis – including mushroom, phoenix, lime, broken chain, and shaking heads (plus some 100 more per Unicode 15.1 update). Podcast listeners will be getting transcription in the Apple Podcasts app, with four languages available (English, French, Spanish, and German). The full text is shown in the same way song lyrics are presented in the media playing interface, and you can search for a specific word or phrase and play from that specific point.

Aside from that, additional quality-of-life improvements include the Music Recognition feature now allows users to add songs to Apple Music Playlists and Library, as well as Apple Music Classical; Siri now has a new option to announce messages received in any supported languages.

For iPhone 15 (and Pro) users, the improved battery telemetry now presents information including battery cycle count, date of manufacture, and date of first use under the Battery Health section in Settings.

Pokdepinion: Hopefully the battery telemetry is more open to users regardless of which platform they use.
