UGREEN’s Nexode RG 65W GaN Charger Is Also Your Robot Companion Too
Most charging bricks look the same, and only in rare cases where one can see different designs being implemented into something as unassuming as a charger. This UGREEN charging brick begs to differ – it’s a charger in the form of a cute-looking robot happy to top up your devices as you need.
Meet the Nexode RG 65W – this GaN (gallium nitride) charger uses the company’s GaNFast chip that touts three times the charging efficiency compared to traditional silicon-based chargers. Like the Nexode Pro series, it features the Airpyra electronic stacking technology that helps pack the components into a smaller footprint. Within its size, there are a pair of USB-C ports and a USB-A port, supplying up to 65W of power.
This charger was designed by Canyu Yang, who is “determined to break away from the tradition of using a minimalist, business-focused style,” according to Christy Wang, Product Manager of UGREEN. ”He decided to utilize an artful, fun-sized aesthetic to enhance the charger’s warmth and appeal, and also incorporated his love for music, giving rise to the concept of a sweet little robot adorned with headphones.”
The robot face acts as a display that shows different emoji expressions depending on charging states, and a pair of “boots” acts as a protective cover for the charger prongs. On the Shopee page, UGREEN offers both UK (Type G) and US (Type A) plugs, which feature a slightly different look due to different prong layouts. For the UK (Type G) model, the price is listed at RM127.95 as of this writing.
