Microsoft is making a change that will require all Windows 11 Pro users to use a Microsoft account to login to the computer. Furthermore, users will need internet connection to continue with the primary setup procedure. They are looking to make this a key requirement since they’ve already done the same with Windows 11 Home users last year.

With that being said, this new requirement is still being tested in Windows 11 builds, so we can expect more users facing this requirement within the next two months. As for the setup process, it was already a requirement for Windows 10 as well, with the exception that you can skip it if you don’t have an active internet connection.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Microsoft has been adding a number of new features in Windows 11. This includes live captions, a new Focus experience, Quick Access improvements, additional touch gestures, and more. This is designed to make it more convenient to use and entice more people to move into the new OS.

Pokdepinion: I predict that there will be a good number of people making dummy accounts just to sign in. After all, it’s just to make sure the computers can continue to be used, so they don’t really need to do anything else with it.
