BYD’s official certified pre-owned vehicle program, BYD Certified, has launched in Malaysia under BYD Sime Motors, the brand’s official distributor in the country. The launch also marks the opening of the first BYD Certified outlet in the Asia Pacific region, located at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie.
Per the Chinese EV giant, vehicles sold under this program are “professionally inspected, backed by verified battery health assessments, warranty coverage, financing solutions, and aftersales support.” During the launch event, the program completed its first customer delivery with a pre-owned BYD Atto 3 being handed over to a buyer.
BYD Certified Program Lands In Malaysia
Every vehicle entering the BYD Certified program must pass a 170-point professional inspection – only vehicles with a recorded mileage below 100,000 km and not exceeding four years of age are eligible for certification. Age and mileage thresholds are applied in combination: a one-year-old vehicle must have under 30,000 km, a two-year-old under 60,000 km, a three-year-old under 90,000 km, and a four-year-old under 100,000 km. Certified vehicles must also carry a clean history, meaning no major accidents, fire damage, flood damage, or odometer tampering.
All certified vehicles follow BYD’s repair standards with original parts – beyond the certification process, buyers receive a 5-day buy-back assurance, entitling them to a full refund at the original purchase price if undisclosed structural, flood, or fire damage is found within five days of delivery. Like every other BYD EV, warranty and service coverage extends across BYD’s authorized nationwide 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) dealer network.
The first BYD Certified outlet at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie is set to offer “a complete one-stop experience,” covering vehicle purchase, certification verification, trade-in services, financing, warranty support, and aftersales care. Note that certified pre-owned BYD models are available subject to stock availability; exclusive BYD Certified financing rates start from as low as 2.03%.
