Suffice to say we’re ever so slightly bummed when Intel didn’t announce any new consumer Arc GPUs this Computex, but Dutch outlet Tweakers reportedly confirmed with multiple sources on-site that the chipmaker is still working on the big Battlemage GPU, Arc B770.
Arc B770 Is Still On

“Sources close to Intel confirm the existence of the Arc B770 video card. According to them, the introduction is planned for the second half of this year. The card is expected to appear in the fourth quarter, although the plans can of course still change,” the publication reported (machine-translated).
The story of this rather mysterious Battlemage GPU variant has been quite back-and-forth – the card was already speculated during the launch of Arc B580 late last year (with its BMG-G31 silicon already spotted before that), only for it to be reportedly scrapped later on. Then, reports claim that Intel revived the project, and this has been confirmed with sightings on the shipping manifest and information from known leakers.
Still, we do know some of BMG-G31’s specs based on earlier leaks. It’ll reportedly feature 32 Xe2-cores – 12 more than the Arc B580’s 20 – and will be paired with 16GB of GDDR6(X) memory via a 256-bit memory bus. If Intel is indeed going full speed ahead with its plans, we may be able to see more information emerging from its AIBs (leaks or otherwise) pretty soon.
