Final Fantasy Resonance pre-orders are now live across multiple storefronts, Square Enix has announced – the title holds the distinction of being the very first HD-2D entry in the mainline Final Fantasy series, based on the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, a mobile game that launched in Japan in 2016 and has since been discontinued.

Pre-orders are currently available on the Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop, as well as the PlayStation Store, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. The game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both Steam and the Microsoft Store on Windows. Square Enix has noted that the Steam version of Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for release on October 23, one day after the official release date for other platforms. The publisher has also revealed a new Pixel Trailer to accompany the pre-order announcement:
In case you missed it, the game’s plot centers on the Kingdom of Grandshelt, a nation sustained by the power of crystals. Rain, commander of an airship squadron, is sent with his childhood friend Lasswell to investigate a weakening barrier at the Earth Shrine. There, the pair are defeated by an armored figure known as Veritas of the Dark, who shatters the Earth Crystal. When Veritas later attacks Grandshelt itself, Rain and Lasswell set out to pursue him, joined by Fina, a memory-less girl who emerged from the crystal.
Final Fantasy Resonance is available in three versions: the standard is $49.99, with Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $59.99 that includes the base game along with a Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack, containing cosmetic items, a Limit Burst unlock for one character, and a set of consumable items. A Square Enix Store exclusive Collector’s Edition is priced at $209.99, which includes a physical Standard Edition copy, a Digital Deluxe upgrade code, an acrylic block set, a pixel art book, a 120-track soundtrack CD, and a promotional Final Fantasy Trading Card Game card.
Pre-ordering any edition grants a Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack, which includes a weapon, armor, and consumable items; purchasing before launch adds a separate Squire Kickstart Pack with additional gear.
