Garmin Malaysia has introduced the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro (branded as fēnix) as its new flagship multisport GPS smartwatches aimed at athletes and adventurers.
The Fenix 9 Pro introduces a titanium watch case for the first time in the series, alongside the largest AMOLED display used on a Fenix model to date. Both models add a new Garmin Epic feature, which groups multiple activities into a single shareable story within the Garmin Connect app, along with enhanced stamina metrics for training.
Garmin Fenix 9
The Garmin Fenix 9 includes an AMOLED display twice as bright as its predecessor, a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, leakproof buttons and a dive rating of up to 40 meters. Navigation has been updated with routable maps, 50% more RAM than the Fenix 8, and a more powerful map engine that allows panning up to 30% faster, alongside a new perspective view for added map detail. With 64GB of storage, the Fenix 9 can store twice as many maps as the Fenix 8 and up to 7,000 songs. The Fenix 9 is available in 43mm, 47mm and 51mm sizes.
New stamina tracking tools (stamina zones and a stamina curve) show how endurance changes over time based on fitness gains and training history. Indoor rowing activities gain additional metrics, including VO2 Max and power curve, when paired with a power meter-equipped machine. Rucking features have also been expanded, allowing users to adjust pack weight mid-activity, follow GORUCK workouts on the watch and set target metrics for packs weighing up to 100kg.
Garmin Fenix 9 Pro
The Fenix 9 Pro builds on the standard model with a titanium case produced using nano-molding technology that combines metal and plastic at a molecular level, reducing thickness while maintaining durability. Its AMOLED display reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness, and the 51mm Pro model introduces Garmin’s first 1.5-inch AMOLED display (15% larger than the Fenix 8) without increasing case size.
Select Pro models include solar charging displays for extended battery life, and an integrated LED flashlight now offers a green light mode to preserve night vision. AMOLED Pro models are available in 43mm, 47mm and 51mm sizes, while solar models come in 47mm and 51mm.
Both watches support new ComfortFit accessory bands, including a fabric band with a split-weave design offering stretch, durability and moisture resistance, along with QuickFit functionality for easy swapping.
Pricing & Availability
The Garmin Fenix 9 will be available from 18 September 2026, starting at RM4,299, with up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode on the largest size; the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro starts at RM4,699, offering up to 31 days of battery life on AMOLED models and up to 57 days on solar charging models under specific outdoor conditions. Both models will be available at official website, Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store, Garmin Brand Stores and authorized retailers nationwide.
