Hisense introduced RoamView as the newest addition to its Lifestyle Series, positioned as a response to a common issue in home viewing: the best spot to watch content is not always where the TV sits. A fixed TV stays in one room, while a tablet may be too small for a more immersive experience.

The Hisense RoamView is meant to sit between the a TV and a tablet – users can take the screen from room to room and adjust it by rotating, tilting or lifting it to a preferred angle, i.e. following a recipe in the kitchen, watching a workout video in the living room, or viewing a movie in bed.
The device is, technically, a 32-inch Android-powered tablet similar to Acer’s CA1 series – it runs on a “high-performance processing platform” with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, which “allows for smooth multitasking and provides space to store movies, shows, photos and other content locally,” according to the Chinese TV maker. That said, don’t expect anything far beyond what’s needed to power your next Netflix binge session performance-wise.
RoamView features a stand that comes with a built-in battery, so the screen can operate without a power outlet (for up to 10 hours); however, the screen needs to be plugged in if it is detached from the stand. Beyond 4K video playback features, RoamView includes several apps and functions, such as Whiteboard, a digital sketchpad, Art Gallery for wallpapers, and Karafun for karaoke.
Hisense has stopped short of announcing local pricing, though the US price tag of $1,200 suggests that RoamView is going to cost more than even a flagship Android tablet.
