Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Load Starts 10 November With A 212GB File Size

Grand Theft Auto VI is now just days away from launch, and Rockstar has confirmed that digital pre-loads will begin on Tuesday, 10 November for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players – be prepared to free up a substantial chunk of storage, as the pre-load file requires up to 212GB.

Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Load Details

On PlayStation 5, pre-loading kicks off at midnight local time in each respective time zone on 10 November (meaning players in New Zealand will be among the first to download the game); Xbox Series X|S players are on a unified global schedule, with pre-loading beginning at 12AM GMT (8AM Malaysian Time) on the same date. For those picking up code-in-box physical editions, retailers are expected to have those available from 12 November.

With 212GB required, the Grand Theft Auto VI pre-load is one of the larger day-one downloads in recent memory, and it’s no surprise given the sheer scale and depth this game is set to offer after a decade’s worth of development. Full instructions for initiating the pre-load on both platforms are available on the Rockstar Support site.

Ahead of launch, Rockstar has made a range of content available on the official site for fans to explore. This includes an extended look video, previews of in-game radio stations and singles from the GTA VI soundtrack, an Only in Leonida section for exploring Vice City and beyond, and details on the Ultimate Edition. Music from the game, including radio station previews, can also be found on the GTA VI music page.

On 19 November, Rockstar will add a free printable GTA VI cover art poster and a map of Leonida as digital downloads to the official site. A double-sided physical version of the poster will follow shortly after launch via the Rockstar Store, priced at $0.99 on its own or available as a free gift with any purchase from the store.
