70mai Launches Omni 360° Dash Cam, Exclusively On Lazada

70mai has formally launched its first-ever 360° dashcam, Omni. Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to get this product, which will be available to purchase starting from 27 Feb to 5 March 2023, exclusively on 70mai’s LazMall Flagship Store.

“As a leading provider of road safety solutions, our goal goes beyond just selling products. We strive to be a trusted advisor and guide for all drivers on the road. With this in mind, we are proud to introduce the 70mai Omni. This innovative device represents our commitment to providing the highest level of safety and security for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. Featuring 360-degree full-view protection, advanced night vision performance, and AI-powered parking surveillance, the 70mai Omni sets a new standard for driver assistance technology.” said Ng Wei Kheng, CEO of Dasher (70mai Malaysia Authorized Distributor).

The Omni features a rotating camera that can swivel for nearly full-circle at 340°, with 140° of FOV at any point. The camera is powered by a F/1.5 aperture sensor coupled with PureCel Plus-S HDR, touted with better low-light performance. Resolution supports to 2K but native resolution is 1080p – as the company’s proprietary image processing tech takes care of the upscaling.

When active, the camera has AI capabilities to detect pedestrians, lanes, traffic and even potentially suspicious movements, which automatically starts a one-minute recording as the user is notified in the mobile app. Same applies in the event of collisions – the algorithm detects it and keeps the footage as evidence for future claims. Aside from that, the dashcam features a built-in GPS which should make locating the vehicle easier (this will require a separate 4G hardware kit).

The Omni also comes with a small 1.2-inch display where MaiX lives – it comes with 10 emojis and 9 reactions based on vehicle scenarios. It can be activated using voice commands, which allows for live recording and other functions. Alternatively, a LED ring light can also reflects the current status of the camera or the vehicle. Pokdepinion: That’s a lot of features for something as mundane as a dashcam – take notes, car owners.
