New Acer Chromebook and Chromebook Tablet Unveiled at Next@Acer 2022
Acer Chromebook Spin 714
The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 and the Enterprise Spin 714 are the main highlights of the company’s Chromebook offerings. They are powered by the Intel Evo-certified 12th Gen Intel Core CPU, up to an i7, with battery life expected to be up to 10 hours long per full charge. It’s also expected to give up to 4 hours of battery life with just a mere 30-minute charging period.
This Chromebook uses a 14-inch touchscreen display with 16:10 aspect ratio and Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass, with the choice of two resolutions; WQXGA (2560 x 1600) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200). You can make use of the USI stylus for drawing, taking notes and more as it supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
For those of you who will be using for work, the new Chromebooks will come with a Full HD MIPI webcam with temporal noise reduction technology with dual-microphone array. You also get two upward-facing speakers with DTS Audio and smart amplifier, all of which work in tandem to provide a seamless video conferencing experience.
Other features includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a backlit keyboard, a HDMI port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, fingerprint reader as an optional add-on, and a MIL-STD 810H durability rating. The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 will be retailing for USD $749.99 (RM3,292.46) while the Enterprise Spin 714 will be slightly higher at USD $1,099.99 (RM4,828.96). Acer Chromebook Tab 510
For those of you who prefer a tablet that’s more convenient to bring around, we have the Acer Chromebook Tab 510. Featuring a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chip. It comes with a 5MP MIPI front camera and an 8MP MIPI rear camera, with battery life said to be up to 11 hours per full charge.
Just like the new Chromebooks, the Acer Chromebook Tab 510 also comes with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass and MIL-STD 810H durability rating, making it a rather solid gadget. Apart from that, the dockable USI stylus lets you enjoy up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. If you want a more laptop-like experience, you can opt for the Keyboard Folio case as an add-on accessory.
The Acer Chromebook Tab 510 will be retailing for USD $399.99 (RM1,755.96). Pricing and availability in Malaysia is still unknown at the moment but we will report more on that as soon as information becomes available.
Pokdepinion: The tablet certainly caught my eye. If I really ever wanted to move into Chrome OS, I would rather it be in tablet form, and the case will still help me use it like I would a regular laptop.
