Acer Malaysia Unveils Sleek and Lightweight Swift 14 and Swift Go Laptops
Acer Malaysia has launched two new laptops in its Swift family, the Swift 14 and Swift Go, designed for users who need a lightweight device that they can carry anywhere they go. Both laptops feature a stylish design, sustainable materials, and advanced features to keep up with the current work-from-anywhere trend.
The new Acer Swift series is part of Acer’s sustainability efforts, incorporating ocean-bound plastic in its design while maintaining functionality and user experience. The touchpad is made with OceanGlass™, offering a glass-like tactile feeling as fingers scroll across it. Both laptops feature an air inlet design that pairs with Acer’s TwinAir dual-fan system and D6 copper heat pipes to increase airflow, ensuring that the laptops stay cool without compromising performance.
Acer Swift 14
The Acer Swift 14 is an evolution of the iconic Swift 5, featuring an aerospace-grade aluminium unibody chassis that is expertly crafted with CNC machining. This process ensures its featherlight weight of just 1.2kg, making it both visually striking and incredibly easy to carry on-the-go.
Within its 14.95mm thin chassis, the Acer Swift 14 packs up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 H-series processor with Intel Iris Xe Graphics for processing dynamic and immersive visuals. The Intel Evo-verified status means it has proven itself to offer more than 10 hours of battery life, allowing users to work on-the-go without needing to look for a power socket.
With the “always on” feature, it comes with the latest connectivity features such as Thunderbolt 4 and fastest WiFi 6E, allowing users to stay connected and productive on-the-go. The Acer Swift 14 has a 14-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS display that delivers stunning visual clarity and is protected by durable Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass that provides scratch resistance and prevents the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria.
Acer Swift Go
The Acer Swift Go is designed for users who prefer to work or study on-the-go, providing flexibility and convenience no matter where they are. The sleek 14.9 mm aluminum chassis is easy to carry and fits into users’ bags, weighing just 1.25kg with 13 hours of battery life, so users can forego carrying a charger around.
The Swift Go has a 14-inch FHD IPS display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio, ultra-slim side bezels measuring just 4.15mm, and up to an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, making it a powerful laptop for multitasking. It comes with up to 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB SSD to deliver lightning-fast response time.
Despite its ultra-thin design, the laptop offers a full selection of ports, including USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1, and a MicroSD card reader to enable a seamless and hassle-free way to connect to a wide variety of peripherals.
Both the Acer Swift 14 and Swift Go come pre-installed with Microsoft Office 2021 Home and Student edition. These laptops are available by the end of April 2023 at Acer eStore and Acer official stores on Shopee and Lazada, with the former priced from RM4,299 while the latter is priced from RM3,199.
Pokdepinion: Honestly the Go seems like a pretty good laptop for general work and education, suitable for a lot of people who might not know if they need anything more specific. While I wouldn’t necessarily call it affordable, it’s a pretty solid value proposition for sure.
