Acer Updates Swift Laptop Lineup With AMD Ryzen 8040 Series Processors

Acer is formally introducing a refreshed Swift lineup powered by AMD’s Ryzen processors – both the Swift Edge 16 and the Swift Go 14 now come packed with the new Ryzen 8040 “Hawk Point” APUs with Ryzen AI NPU built-in. As per Microsoft’s AI push, both laptops will also feature a dedicated Copilot AI key.

The new Acer Swift Edge 16 (SFE16-44) – we’ve reviewed its direct predecessor here – will retain the same chassis design with upgraded internals. Aside from the new Ryzens, which you have the option of either Ryzen 7 8840U or Ryzen 5 7640U to choose from, the new models will also pack up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 2TB SSD, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity for the first time. Note that storage and RAM options may change depending on markets, which Acer hasn’t specified for the Malaysia-bound model.

Meanwhile, the new Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-63, SFG14-63T) will come with three processor options: the entry-level Ryzen 5 8645HS, the more powerful Ryzen 7 8845HS, and for those who need maximum firepower available – the Ryzen 9 8945HS is also available. All three configurations will be paired with up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM / 2TB SSD, packed within a 14-inch chassis sporting up to 2.8K 90Hz panel or optional FHD touchscreen panel.

No local pricing availability just yet, but MSRPs retain from the previous year, with the Swift Edge 16 starting at $1299.99, while the Swift Go 14 models will be available from $699.99. They’re expected to enter retail channels starting from March in NA regions, and April for EMEA regions – expect the models to arrive later for Malaysian markets.
